Another unique aspect of having to conduct studies at two sites is our requirement to interact with two independent Investigational Review Boards, the Committee on Clinical Investigation (CCI) for CHLA and the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS) for UCLA. In 2006 we submitted each CPCCRN study to the IRB independently.
However, as more studies are being conducted within the network, we have started “cross” submissions between the two Investigational Review Boards. In doing this we hpoed to conduct research activities between the two universities interchangeably.
